Job Purposes
Responsible in identifying, researching, and evaluating suppliers to meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Research and assess supplier’s products to ensure compliance with specifications and organization’s quality standards
- Analyze supplier bids, tenders, and proposals to support and ensure effective negotiation for prices and delivery conditions
- Recognize and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices
- Commit to purchases with terms of organizational best interest to support buying and merchandising, and business operations effectively
- Accumulate and analyze inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders, and relevant documents to ensure purchasing activities with demand for goods
- Track quality and timeline of goods supplied and status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure proper delivery
- Communicate and coordinate with internal customers, vendors, inventory, and relevant functions to ensure effective purchasing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum 0-3 years’ work experiences in buying, merchandising, or related field
- Have computer skills, especially MS Office and industry standard purchase order software platforms
- Have analytical and strong negotiating skills
- Be detail-oriented
