Job Purposes

Legal Associate (Supervisor level) responsible for leading day-to-day legal support for residential, property transactions and related new business initiatives, providing practical legal advice, and ensuring contractual, regulatory, and policy compliance. This role supervises/coordinates assigned legal resources (junior team members and/or external counsel) and escalates significant matters to the Head of Legal as required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of agreements for residential projects, real estate and other new business; ensure appropriate use of templates and alignment with legal requirements and internal approval authority.
  • Advise business stakeholders on contract structure, key risks and mitigation options (e.g., land plot, real estate, residential, JV-related documents), and drive resolution of issues through negotiation with counterparties and coordination with internal functions.
  • Supervise and quality-check contract drafting/review work performed by junior team members and/or external counsel; provide guidance, allocate tasks and monitor timelines to meet business requirements.
  • Manage legal disputes, claims and settlement discussions for assigned matters; coordinate strategy with external counsel, control legal spend within guidelines, and provide clear updates and recommendations to management.
  • Monitor legal/regulatory developments and internal policies affecting business operations; translate updates into practical guidance (e.g., checklists/standard clauses) and support awareness sessions for relevant teams.

Qualifications

  • Law graduate (LL.B., LL.M).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal function, with strong exposure to real estate transactions, residential project documentation and/or commercial contracting.
  • Solid knowledge of land plot/real estate/residential project documents and the ability to identify key legal risks, propose mitigations, and support negotiations independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coach junior staff and/or manage external counsel, prioritize workload, and deliver high-quality outputs under timelines.
