Head of Visual Merchandise & Production
Job Purposes
Develops, plans and creates compelling displays & store environments. Utilizes a multitude of processes to execute displays. Drives consistent execution of the visual strategy and ensures alignment of Visual Merchandising initiatives and consistent standards to enhance Central department stores and create an exceptional customer experience.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and design creative plans for Central department stores display themes, determine and maintain an image for department stores that resonates with target customers to enhance the stores and customer experience including demonstrating strong business acumen to help drive sales through creative display and visual merchandising
- Understand key strategic business initiatives, develop and execute ways to support through visual merchandising and display including strategic partner in business review meetings with all related teams to influence the buys, pricing, and business strategies that are executable across all formats
- Implement, drive and develop display and visual merchandising standards and guidelines which are in line with the company's brand strategy and ensure visual merchandising alignment with brand principals of imported branded products
- Direct and provide recommendations of all categories on the creation and execution of on visual merchandising and display area to ensure quality of all visual merchandising of all merchandise categories
- Lead the creation and execution of pre-planning merchandise blueprints for upcoming seasons ensuring every format aligns to buy and merchandising strategy
- Own and direct the full process of visual merchandising from pre-buy work, conceptualization through milestone meetings, calendars and workflow for all store formats including overseeing all aspects of presentation, from strategic pre-buy work with buying team including merchandise blueprints, window execution direction, sign placement to final communication to field for execution and other pertinent information to drive sales and profitability
- Has a clear understanding of the complex promotional strategy and its impact on presentation in order to develop and execute visual merchandising campaign installations and merchandising initiatives, elevating in-store presentation as well as strategic sales promotion sign placement plan to encourage purchases and help drive sales results
- Analyze business trends and stay abreast of all current trends to make appropriate changes in presentation and assortment in partnership with management and related parties
- Support and advise the stores on all aspects of visual merchandising, in store visual merchandising layout, fixture placement and product merchandising in accordance with current guidelines including communicating with stores leadership and visual merchandising to discuss any identified opportunities, issues or needs
- Elevate visual merchandising through communication and training, identifying opportunities within the market as well as developing and executing a corresponding action plan
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in arts, design or related fields
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in visual merchandising, visual display, styling
- Minimum of 3-5 years of team management
